RingRite+  Distinctive Ringing Device

Save the expense of extra phone lines with Distinctive Ringing services and RingRite+

RingRite+ works with distinctive ringing services offered by your local phone company to properly route incoming calls to up to 3 telephone devices on a single phone line. Use RingRite+ with your fax, phone, & modem to have each incoming call be answered by the "rite" device every time.

What's Distinctive Ringing?

[Bullet] Distinctive Ringing Services are offered by many local phone companies* throughout the United States and Canada. You can have one to three distinctive ringing phone numbers added to your existing phone line. (These are not new phone LINES, but new phone NUMBERS assigned to the same line.)

* Distinctive Ringing Service is called Custom Ringing by Qwest, IdentaRing, Ringmate, and Smart Ring in different Verizon areas, MultiRing by Ameritech, Personalized Ringing by Southwestern Bell, and a variety of other names by other local phone companies. Contact your local phone company to find out if distinctive ringing is available in your area. RingRite+ responds only to the number of rings in a ring cycle and cannot distinguish ring cadences like long-short or short-long, both of which will be treated as a double-ring pattern.
[Bullet] How does it work? When someone calls one of your distinctive ringing numbers, your telephones will ring with a different pattern to tell you which number has been dialed. Distinctive ringing patterns will usually be two-ring or three-ring patterns of some kind. (For example: RING-RING, pause, RING-RING, pause is what a two-ring pattern would sound like.)

[Bullet] Distinctive Ringing Services are very useful for home offices and small businesses that want to expand their communication options, without incurring the cost of additional phone lines.

[Bullet] For example: You could use a new distinctive ringing number on your line as a business number and answer the new ringing pattern with your business greeting. However, if you wanted to use a distinctive ringing number for your fax machine, your fax machine would not be intelligent enough to answer calls for just the distinctive ringing number.

That's where the RingRite+ comes in...

RingRite+ Operation:

RingRite+ can be connected to any modular telephone wall jack in your home or office, on a phone line with Distinctive Ringing Service. Your auto-answer phone devices (fax machine, modem, answering machines, etc.) are then connected to the various ports of the RingRite+.

When a call comes in, the RingRite+ will absorb and analyze the first ring. If it hears a single-ring pattern, it will route the call to the "1 Ring" Port, a two-ring pattern to the "2 Rings" Port, and a three-ring pattern to the "3 Rings" Port. There is no programming required to have the RingRite+ start routing your calls. Make outgoing calls as you normally would.

RingRite+ can also be installed in a business environment with multiple phone lines. In this case, the RingRite+ would be connected to a phone line, in front of the key phone system or PBX.

Once a call is in progress, RingRite+ will prevent other phones or devices on the line from interrupting the call.

RingRite+ Applications:

With RingRite+ and distinctive ringing services, you can have calls automatically routed to up to three auto-answer devices. And since RingRite+ is looking for ringing patterns on the line instead of fax tone or transfer codes, any type of communications device can be connected to any port of the RingRite+. Calls will be routed to the "rite" port every time.

Some common configurations for RingRite+ include:

[Bullet] Business Telephone, Fax, & Modem
[Bullet] Answering Machine, Fax, & Modem
[Bullet] Answering Machine & PC Fax/Modem Card
[Bullet] Residential Answering Machine, Business Answering Machine, & Fax
[Bullet] Business Phone System (PBX/Key) & Fax
[Bullet] Or any combination of any three devices !!

Features:

[Bullet] Share a single phone line with up to 3 devices. Each device can have its own phone number and ringing pattern. Saves you hundreds of dollars annually over the cost of additional phone lines.

[Bullet] Easy installation - simply plug your RingRite+ into a modular phone jack and an AC power outlet to begin routing calls to your telephone devices. RingRite+ can also be installed directly in the phone line to work with multiple-line phone systems.

[Bullet] Automatic operation - RingRite+ will direct phone calls to the proper port and that port only, without any manual intervention. No voice messages, ringback tones, or transfer codes for your callers to deal with.

[Bullet] Works with all standard telephone devices. RingRite+ is compatible with tone & rotary dial phones and all other standard communications devices. RingRite+ also works with all phone company services, such as voice mail, call waiting, call forwarding, etc.

[Bullet] Barge-in protection - When a call is in progress, RingRite+ prevents the other devices attached to it from interrupting the call. Or, with the flip of a dip switch, it can allow other devices to access calls.

[Bullet] Optional user dip-switch settings allow you to customize RingRite+ to perform optimally for your application. RingRite+ can be set to analyze two incoming rings instead of just one to determine the ringing pattern, or to pass through a single ring to a device instead of the distinctive ring.

[Bullet] Access during power outages - During a power outage, all devices attached to the RingRite+ are able to access the phone line.
